Parks, open spaces and play areas

In Lightmoor Village there are a number of fantastic parks, open spaces and play areas we are proud to look after.

We are dedicated to making sure our parks and open spaces are welcoming, accessible to our communities, environmentally friendly and biodiverse.

To do this our estates and stewardship, grounds maintenance and estate caretaking teams work hard together to maintain and protect the environment that our community uses.

This work includes, tree work, grass cutting, hedge trimming, shrub bed pruning and maintenance, weed spraying and removal, emptying litter bins and litter picking and leaf clearing and repairs.

These services are funded through the Stewardship Charge that all residents contribute towards. More information can be found here

Our parks, open spaces and play areas include;

Croppings Park (located at the south end of the Village, next to The Croppings and leads to Holywell Meadow) is a large green open space with paths leading around it to other areas of the Village. There are three levels of play areas for ages 3 + years old, including slides, swings, and climbing nets. There is a multi-use games area and picnic benches.

Holywell Meadow (located at the bottom of the Village and Stocking Park Road) is a large area of open spaces forming part of the circular walk around the village. It contains an orchard of apple, pear and cherry trees that were planted for the first children born in the Village. Bob looks over the trees, he is a wooden man created by the ground’s maintenance team.

Myford Meadow is a large area of open space between Round House Park and The Paddocks with long grasses and wild flowers to help create biodiversity. There are two herb planters, created by the Green Gang where residents can help themselves.

Stocking Park Play Area (located adjacent to Stocking Park Road) has a large tunnel slide and climbing trail from the top of the bank to the bottom and includes a large rope swing.

The Paddocks Play Area and open space (located next to Crystal Drive) for children age 3+, including swings, slides and a multi-use games area.

Stoney Hill Park (located next to Croppings Park) is a large area of open space where residents can exercise their dogs if they wish.

Woodlands Park (located in the centre of the village, next to the school and Oak Tree Community Centre) is a large area of open spaces for all ages to enjoy with paths leading to other areas of the Village and many types of native trees. There is a play area for 3+ year olds with different equipment including swings and a slide, a multi-use games area, full sized football pitch, skate ramp and bike track.

Bath Spout is an area of historic woodland where a natural spring occurs from the rock, this is where people got their fresh water from many years ago. This area is used by the school and nursery for forest school work.
