Friends come together at Lightmoor Village to remember much-loved friend Chris
Posted on: 01 Oct 26
This Saturday, 3rd October at 2.00pm on the football pitch by the primary school, a group of friends will be coming together to play a special charity football match in memory of their much-loved friend, Chris Short, who sadly passed away last year.
Chris and Alex lived in Lightmoor Village for many years, building a wonderful family life together, with their children attending Lightmoor Village Primary School. During that time, Chris became a much-loved and respected member of the community, and his loss has been deeply felt by so many.
Chris was a devoted family man, a firefighter and, above all, a true and loyal friend. He was the kind of person who made people feel valued and supported. Through his humour, strength and quiet kindness, Chris had a way of making a lasting difference to the people around him. For those taking part in the match, and for the many others who knew Chris, he was much more than a friend – he was someone who brought people together. He created memories, shared laughter, offered encouragement and was there for so many people through both the good times and the difficult ones.
This special match is an opportunity to remember Chris, celebrate his life while bringing together friends, family and members of the community who knew and loved him.
Chris’s laughter, courage, kindness and friendship will live on in the memories of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Following the match, everyone is welcome to join the group at the Forrester’s Arms in Horsehay for refreshments, food and a raffle.
Please come along, whether its shouting your support during the match or joining them afterwards, everyone will be welcome.
This one’s for you, Shorty. ❤️
