Support & food donations at Oak Tree Community Centre

Did you know the Oak Tree Community Centre is both a pick-up and drop-off point for food donations and parcels?

We proudly partner with Telford Crisis Support to make sure local individuals and families can access the help they need. Whether you’d like to donate items or require support yourself, here’s everything you need to know.

How do I receive a food parcel?
Simply call 01952 586646. You do not need a referral, and you do not need to be claiming benefits. If you’re struggling, the friendly team will be there to support you.

Where can I pick up the food parcel?
Food parcels can be collected from the Oak Tree Community Centre in Lightmoor Village.

Are the food parcels standard?
No. All parcels are made to order to suit your circumstances. They take into account:
• Number of adults
• Number of children
• Children’s ages
This makes sure the parcel meets your household’s specific needs.

What will I receive?
You’ll receive a minimum of three days’ worth of food. Parcels mainly contain non-perishable items such as tinned and dried foods. Whenever possible, donations also include fresh and frozen products.
A typical parcel may include:
• Breakfast cereal
• Soup
• Pasta
• Rice
• Pasta sauce
• Baked beans
• Tinned meat
• Tinned vegetables
• UHT milk
• Tea or coffee
• Tinned dessert
• Biscuits

Can they cater for special dietary requirements?
Yes. They can provide parcels suitable for:
• Halal
• Vegetarian
• Vegan
• Pescatarian

They also cater for specific dietary needs including:
• Lactose intolerance
• Diabetes
• Gluten intolerance
• And similar requirements

What if I don’t have cooking facilities?
Support is available. They can provide:
• Non-cook parcels
• Parcels for those with limited cooking access (for example, only a kettle or microwave)

I’d like to donate items – what do I do?
Donations can be dropped off at the Oak Tree Community Centre, and they will be passed on to Telford Crisis Support when they deliver and collect food parcels.
