Caring for our green spaces in Lightmoor Village
Posted on: 27 Feb 26
In Lightmoor Village, we know just how important our parks and open spaces are to everyone who lives here. They’re places to relax, play, exercise and connect with nature – and that’s why our grounds maintenance team are out every day, not only maintaining these areas but continually looking at ways to improve them too.
We’re pleased to share that the team in partnership with our estates and stewardship department have recently planted 20 new trees, which are spread across Lightmoor Village in our community green spaces to improve the landscape, replace lost trees and to support local wildlife.
Sadly, one of these newly planted trees was deliberately damaged by some young people and will now need to be removed. This is disappointing, especially when so much effort goes into improving our shared environment for everyone to enjoy.
Trees are such an important part of any community – they don’t just make our surroundings look beautiful, they also support biodiversity, improve air quality and create habitats for birds and insects.
If you have young people who use our parks and open spaces, please take a moment to chat with them about why it’s so important to respect and care for trees and plants. By working together, we can make sure Lightmoor Village remains a green, welcoming place for everyone.
Thank you for your continued support.
