Behind the scenes: Discover the importance of Lightmoor's woodlands
Posted on: 14 Jul 26
Following the success of the first Veterans Family Fun Day in Lightmoor Village, we’re pleased to share a fascinating insight into the work taking place to protect and enhance our community woodlands.
During the event, Caroline Cadbury, Trustee at Bournville Village Trust, was given a guided tour of the site by Vicky from Small Woods, who explained the work being carried out to manage and improve the woodland.
The tour highlights why these woodlands are so important, not only as a haven for wildlife but also as a valuable space that supports the health and wellbeing of local people. From habitat management to creating opportunities for the community to connect with nature, the work of Small Woods is helping to ensure the woodland can be enjoyed for generations to come.
If you’ve ever wondered what happens behind the scenes to care for this special place, this short video provides an excellent overview of the project and its positive impact on both people and nature.
