Reflecting on another successful term for the Lightmoor Village Estate Management Committee
Posted on: 17 Jul 26
Hello, I’m Jordan, Chair of the resident-led Lightmoor Village Estate Management Committee. Following our recent committee elections, I’d like to thank everyone who put themselves forward as candidates and everyone who took the time to vote. It was fantastic to see such a positive turnout, and I’m delighted to welcome both new faces and returning members to the committee.
I’m also incredibly grateful to have been re-elected and to continue serving residents for another term. As this may be my final term as Chair, it felt like the perfect opportunity to reflect on what we’ve achieved together since the resident-led committee was established.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – the committee is far more than a paper exercise. We work closely with Bournville Village Trust (BVT) to represent residents, influence decisions and ensure the stewardship services delivered across Lightmoor Village are the right ones and are provided to the standard our community expects.
Looking back over the years, we’ve achieved a great deal together and I’m incredibly proud of what the committee has helped deliver.
Putting residents at the heart of decision making
Since the committee was formed, residents have had a genuine voice in how the village is managed. Through regular meetings with BVT, we’ve been able to raise local issues, influence decisions and help shape improvements that directly benefit the community.
Whether it’s enhancing green spaces, improving estate services, supporting community events or discussing future investment, residents now have a stronger voice in the future of Lightmoor Village.
Supporting investment in the village
The committee has played an important role in ensuring stewardship funding is used to benefit residents and maintain the high standards that make Lightmoor Village such a great place to live.
We’ve worked alongside BVT on a wide range of projects designed to protect and enhance the village, always with residents’ interests at the centre of discussions.
Working in partnership
One of the real strengths over recent years has been the partnership between BVT, Telford & Wrekin Council and other organisations through the Lightmoor Delivery Group. By working together, we’ve been able to support projects that improve the village, respond to residents’ priorities and help secure positive outcomes for the community. This includes funding the weekly youth club which continues to go from strength to strength. The removal of the parking spaces outside the primary school and installation of bollards to stop parking and the regular support of the activities and events that take place in the village. I’d personally like to thank Telford & Wrekin Council for being an important part of that partnership. The collaborative approach has delivered real benefits for residents, and I’d love to see that continue for many years to come.
Welcoming our new committee members
I’m delighted to welcome our newly elected committee members, who will bring fresh ideas alongside the experience of our returning members. Together, I’m confident they’ll continue to represent residents and help shape the future of Lightmoor Village.
Over the coming months, you’ll be able to find out more about each of them as they share why they decided to join the committee and what they hope to achieve during their time on the committee.
Welcome too:
- Louise Macleod (re-elected)
- Jordan Taylor (re-elected)
- Wendy Rhoden (re-elected)
- Scott Burton
- Adrian Chidlow
Looking ahead
Although this may be my final term as Chair, I’m proud to continue serving as a committee member and to support the work of the committee over the coming years.
I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me throughout my time as Chair – my fellow committee members, BVT colleagues, Telford & Wrekin Council and, most importantly, the residents who continue to share their ideas and feedback.
Together, we’ve achieved a great deal, and I know the committee will continue working hard to ensure Lightmoor Village remains a fantastic place to live for everyone.
