Residents celebrate Love Parks Week

Residents and their families came together to round off our Love Parks Week celebrations with a fun-filled day showcasing the wonderful green spaces across Lightmoor Village.
From the launch of our brand-new 5K trail and a guided walk through the village’s rich history to our first-ever community dog show and a visit to the community orchard, the event was a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, meet neighbours and celebrate everything that makes Lightmoor Village such a great place to live.
The day began with the official launch of the new 5K trail, led by Fleur Hemming, Estates & Stewardship Manager, who shared the history and stories behind many of the locations along the route. Participants also stopped at the community orchard, where they enjoyed sampling fresh plums and blackberries, with cooking apples available to take home. Keep an eye on the orchard over the coming weeks too, as the eating apples, pears and more plums will soon be ready to harvest.
Fleur Hemming, Estates & Stewardship Manager, said: “It was fantastic to see so many residents and families coming together to celebrate our parks and open spaces. The new 5K trail is a great way for people to explore the village, discover some of its history and enjoy the beautiful green spaces on their doorstep. We hope it encourages even more people to get outside, stay active and make the most of everything Lightmoor Village has to offer.”
The celebrations continued with the first-ever Lightmoor Village Dog Show, which proved to be a popular attraction. A huge thank you goes to Cllr Raj Mehta and Jordan Taylor, Chair of the Lightmoor Village Estate Management Committee, for taking on the challenging role of judging our wonderful four-legged entrants.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate Love Parks Week and helped make the day such a success. It was wonderful to see so many residents making the most of Lightmoor Village’s fantastic parks and open spaces.
